We went to a peaceful non-violent Friday-demonstration in Kufr Qaddum. They demonstrate weekly against the occupation and the blocking of their main road. We were met with live bullets from the Israeli military as we started our walk towards the blockage and a young boy and a man was shot and severely injured.

Tulkarm checkpoint was such a powerful, sad and humble experience. We got there at 4 am it was already a vivid scene. It felt shameful to photograph the people while they were caged like animals. But it seemed people understood we were there to document on their behalf and most welcomed us with a smile or a nod.
I strongly recommend reading the article from our visit below.

In march 2016 i lived 2 weeks in Jayyous on the West bank in Palestine. I got to know the farmers and their families and i got to hear their stories. Jayyous is close to an illegal Israeli settlement and they have had land stolen, they have been harassed, arrested both in nighttime and broad daylight. Their stories are many and they are powerful.
Farmers in Jayyous are separated from their land by a guarded electric fence. The gate is open for those with a permit for 30min, 3 times a day. The criterias for getting the permit are strict and complicated, and only available for a few farmers. Going through the gate the farmers are subjected to harassment, violence and sometimes severe danger from the Israeli military occupation forces.
